LD5 Republicans held a “Go Green” St. Patrick’s Day Fundraiser Party on Friday, March 17th, 2023 from 7pm to 10pm at the Maloney residence in Phoenix, Arizona, hosted by LD5 Chairwoman Gina Maloney and her husband, LD5 Precinct Committeeman (PC) Tim Maloney.

True to the “Go Green” theme, more than merely “Show Up Wearing Green, Or Else,” the event raised a remarkable amount of “Green” in the form of financial donations to LD5 Republicans for PC Training & Recruitment, Community Involvement, and Messaging to Attract Voters to the Republican Party. These donations, given most graciously and generously—to what one may refer to, humorously, as LD5’s own take on the “Green New Deal”—are greatly appreciated, and should prove to go far, helping LD5 towards reaching its humble, yet ambitious, goals.

Spotted among the crowd, in addition to a good turnout by LD5’s own PCs (including some first-timers): the LD5 Executive Board, LD5’s Joe Abate, Dawn Grove, Barry Goldwater Jr., Barry Wong, and other notables. (Please excuse us if we’re missing anyone by name.) It was also good to see AZGOP Chair Jeff DeWit, AZGOP Treasurer Elijah Norton, AZGOP CD1 Member-at-Large Yvonne Cahill, 2022 AZSOS candidate and former Arizona State Legislator Mark Finchem (LD11 House), current Arizona State Legislators Joseph Chaplik (LD3 House) and Matt Gress (LD4 House), and more.

Midway through the light-hearted mixing and mingling between the guests—in all their green glory, along with enjoyable finger foods, drinks, and music—LD5 Chairwoman Gina Maloney took the opportunity to thank everyone in attendance for their presence and donations, followed by a brief pep talk encouraging our fellow Republicans to unify and prioritize getting more Republicans registered to vote, recruited to be PCs, and elected to serve and represent us in our own government.

Recognizing AZGOP Chair Jeff DeWit by her side, Maloney turned over the the mic, and DeWit thanked everyone for attending and being a part of the Republican Party, in the party. He concluded his remarks by adding that, like never before, the 2024 Election is going to be the most important in our lifetime, and that we, as Republicans, for past, present, and future generations, must win elections.
